Freshwater Fish Weight Angler Location Date Pacu 27 lbs 9.6 oz Duke Sawa Manoa, Oahu 11/27/16 Our 5-year-old son, Duke Sawa, casted his 6' rod with a Penn reel loaded with 12 pound test and managed to land this monster pacu! We realized that the current state record is 18 pounds, but Duke's fish weighed in at 27.6 pounds. After weighing the fish and taking a couple of photos, we released the giant pacu back into the water with hopes of us catching it again someday.
