Bottom Fish Weight Angler Location Date Snapper, red (Ehu) 11 lbs 6 oz Michael Matsunaga Ka'ena Pt., O'ahu 05/03/05 Michael Matsunaga was bottom fishing off Ka'ena Point, O'ahu in 930 feet of water when he hooked a good fish. He raised the red snapper (ehu) using an H. Ching bottom fishing reel and 100-lb test line. The snapper wasn't good, it was awesome! A new state record, in fact!
