Travis Texeira was fishing with his cousin James Joyce at his favorite fishing spot on the Puna Coast of the Big Island when he made his historic catch. Travis had rigged a hang bait attached to his Fenwick fishing pole, Penn 4/0 reel and 80-lb test Trilene line. He used a ta'ape for bait. The ulua showed up around 6 p.m. and Travis and James witnessed the monster fish attack the bait. After an epic battle, Travis laid his hands on his 125.3-lb prize.
