Midwater Fish Weight Angler Location Date Round Herring or Mikiawa .25 lbs David McIntire Makena, Maui 3/28/04 David McIntire and his son were fishing for 'opelu on Maui's south shore off Makena Beach in about 300 feet of water and were experiencing a steady bite when David pulled up this fish. At first glance, he thought it was another 'opelu, but then he noticed its bright blue stripe. The fish was wriggling so much that it knocked off most of its scales, but it was still in good enough shape to make the record book!
