Bottom Fish Weight Angler Location Date Large-Headed Scorpionfish 8 lbs 1.6 oz CJ Yoneshige Windward, Oahu 04/11/2021 In early April, I caught this scorpionfish while bottom fishing in 150 fathoms off the east side of Oahu, on my 18 Force, PALAOA. The sharks were fierce all day but we got lucky and managed to pull up this 8.1-lb hogo from the depths. I used a custom BV shido wrap rod, Shimano Beastmaster 9000 spooled with 120-lb Power Pro and aku belly as bait.
